FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions – Amass 16 AWG
The Amass 16 AWG wire is a strong power cable designed for high-current applications.
It’s perfect for 5–7 inch drones, RC systems, power supplies, converters and 12–48 V DC installations.
The 16 AWG wire safely carries about 15 A continuous and up to 35 A peak current.
Over short runs, it can handle up to 40 A with minimal voltage loss.
Yes, 16 AWG is ideal for connecting LiPo batteries, brushless motors, ESCs and power distribution boards.
It’s thick, flexible and has very low resistance.
Use a 3–4 mm soldering tip at 400–430 °C.
Heat the joint for 2–3 seconds to let solder flow between strands. The silicone insulation resists heat and prevents melting.
The 16 AWG wire has a cross-section of ≈ 1.31 mm², while 14 AWG is ≈ 2.08 mm².
14 AWG can carry higher current, but 16 AWG is lighter and more flexible — ideal for FPV and RC builds.
