Frequently Asked Questions – Amass 12 AWG
The Amass 12 AWG wire is designed for high-current power applications.
It’s perfect for LiPo batteries, ESCs, high-power motors and 12 – 48 V FPV power systems.
I am item content. Click edit The 12 AWG wire safely carries about 35 A continuous and up to 80 A peak.
Over short runs, it can handle up to 100 A with minimal voltage drop. to change this text. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.
Yes, 12 AWG is commonly used in large FPV drones (7 – 10 inch) and high-power RC systems.
It’s ideal for battery leads, PDB connections and heavy duty DC power wiring.
Use a 4 – 5 mm soldering tip at 420 – 450 °C.
Heat the wire for 2–3 seconds to let solder fully flow into the strands.
The Amass silicone insulation is heat-resistant and won’t melt while soldering.
The 12 AWG wire has a cross-section of ≈ 3.31 mm², while 14 AWG is ≈ 2.08 mm².
12 AWG handles more current but is thicker and heavier; 14 AWG is more flexible for smaller builds.
