• Desired Range and Flight Time: This determines the drone's size (4", 6", 7"), battery type and capacity (Li-Ion vs LiPo, mAh capacity, S voltage). Longer range/flight time usually means a larger and heavier drone.
• Required GPS Features: Is basic RTH (Return-to-Home) sufficient, or do you need full waypoint navigation and advanced flight assistance features (requires support in the FC and software like INAV)?
• RC and Video Link Strength: Ensure the chosen RC (Crossfire, ELRS) and FPV system (analog/digital, VTX power) provide sufficient range and signal quality for your planned flights. Remember about appropriate antennas!
• Battery Type: Li-Ion offers longer flight time but less "punch" than LiPo. Choose according to your preferred flying style (calm exploration vs more dynamic LR flights).
• Legal Regulations: Always fly in accordance with current regulations! BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) flying is strictly regulated.
